Sometimes in integrations data transfer (such as sales invoices, travel reimbursements or work time entries) can fail and the data ends up in an error. This instruction explains in general about error messages and how they are formed. You can find the error message tables for each Integration with solution suggestions in the help folder: Error messages.

What usually causes error situations?

Transfer errors in Integrations are typically caused by two reasons:

  1. Incomplete data: The data in the material to be transferred is incomplete.
  2. Incorrect settings: Integration settings are configured incorrectly or they are incomplete.
  3. We aim to inform separately for each Integration about any other possible extensive fault situations, such as interface issues.

Where can I find the transfer log?

In Severa, the transfer log of Integrations can be found as follows:

  1. Click the cogwheel icon.
  2. Select Integrations > Transfer log.
  3. Select the correct Integration from the drop-down menu and search log data for the desired time period.

How do I know that the material ended up in an error?

You can identify an error situation in several ways:

  • Invoice status: In many Integrations, invoices that have ended up in an error have their own status in Severa. Monitor this status.
  • Transfer log: Check the transfer log regularly for errors.
  • Receiving software: In some cases, the error is visible only in the transfer view of the receiving software.
  • Email notification: The error may also generate an automatic email message.

What do I do when an invoice ends up in an error?

If you notice that an invoice is in an error status in Severa, proceed as follows:

  1. Open the transfer log: Go via the cogwheel icon to Integrations > Transfer log.
  2. Find the transferred data and the error: Check whether, for example, the invoice number can be found in the log and whether there is an error message for it.
  3. Search for a solution: Copy the error message and search it in the help pages search field to find a ready-made solution suggestion.
  4. Contact us customer service: You can always turn to our customer service if you do not find a solution.
