By using stopwatch you can easily track your hours precisely without the hassle of trying to remember how long you worked on a project. You can access stopwatch by clicking the icon in the top navigation.

In this view you can start a new timing, continue a previous one and edit settings related to stopwatch. All timings for the current day are shown in the main view where you can also delete or continue them.

Settings

Stopwatch main view

Here you can define what you see in the What are you working on? field and set reminders for yourself. Time-related restrictions (e.g. 8:00) are shown to the user when they are logged in to Severa during that time. The reminder related to timing duration is shown to the logged-in user and again the next time they log in.

User profile

You can manage all stopwatch-related settings also via My profile > Hours.

Start a new timing

You can start a new timing by clicking the green start button or by selecting a project first. The timing is not linked to a project if you start it via the green start button. You can link the timing to a project in the main view while the timing is ongoing or after you have stopped it. You can also link the timing to a project in the Time & expenses view. Timing starts immediately when you select a project.

For an ongoing timing you can change the project or edit the description.

Stop a timing

When you have a timing ongoing you can stop it by clicking the red stop button. In the Time & expenses view you can stop a timing by clicking the stop icon on the right side of that entry. The current timing is also stopped if you continue an older timing in the stopwatch main view or in the Time & expenses view.

When timing is stopped it is instantly saved as a work hour entry if it is linked to a project. If timing isn’t linked to a project it will be highlighted in the main view and you can see it in the Incomplete entries section in the Time & expenses view. After it is linked to a project it will be saved as a work hour entry.

Continue previous timing

After you have done your first timings for the current day you can continue them by clicking the green timing button that appears on the right side of each timing in the stopwatch main view or in the Time & expenses view. The new timing will be added on top of the previous timing. You can have several timings for the same project/phase by selecting it from the What are you working on? menu.

If your company uses the Start time - End time work hour entry format you can’t continue timings.

Round timings

With rounding enabled, you can round entries in the Time & expenses view. You will see a shortcut when you hover your mouse over an entry.

Delete existing timings

You can delete a saved timing by clicking the delete button that appears on the right side of each timing in the main view or in the Time & expenses view.

Deleting an entry removes the timing from both the main view and the Time & expenses view.
