Once your customer approves your proposal, you can create different types of project and billing plans based on that proposal. Hit the arrow next to the Close button and select the option you want.

In the project plan creation, you can use the proposal in different ways. Depending on the level of detail you want to have on your project plan, you can use either the subtotals, proposal rows or both for creating project phases.

In the billing plan creation, you can define if your project billing is based on hours or fixed fees. For fixed fees, you have several options:

  • fees based on subtotals,
  • individual rows or
  • based on percentages of value.

Create a billing plan from proposal

When your customer accepts your proposal you can easily create a billing plan using the proposal rows as a basis. Start by navigating to the sales case and open the won proposal. Click Go to create billing plan button next to Close and go to sales case.

On the left you can see a preview of your proposal and on the right you have the option to select how proposal rows are billed. There are two options to choose from:

  • Products separately, hours according to price list: Use this option when billing is based on both hour entries and fees. This way the hours get the price per hour based on the price list and fees are billed separately.
  • As fees: Use this option if also work hours or subtotals are billed as fees:
    • Using subtotals and products.
    • Using work hours and products.

You don't have to include all rows to your plan. If you want to exclude rows or subtotals just click the row. Full editing options are available on the Financials tab of you project.

You can go back to the sales case by clicking the Cancel button. If you need to do some changes to the proposal before creating a billing plan you can go back to proposal by clicking the button next to Create billing plan and select Go back to proposal.
