Industries are different types of businesses that your customers are engaged in. Customers belonging to a specific industry may have similar needs or goals, and industry-specific features such as products, price lists and project templates can be utilized.
Customer can only belong to one industry.
To manage industries go to Settings > Customers & contacts > Industries. You can add new industries based on your customer field and edit the existing ones. When editing an industry, you can see with how many customers it is associated with and view a list of those customers.
To disable or delete an industry, just hover your mouse over the row and the available actions appear. When deleting an industry that is linked with customers, you are prompted to either swap the customers under another industry or delete the industry selection from them.
If you disable an industry which is in use, it is still used for existing customers, but cannot be used for new ones.
