The calendar view can be found in Severa's side navigation under Schedule > Calendar. Depending on your permissions, you can also view another user's calendar view by selecting the desired user from the User menu in the top right corner. Please note that the KPI figures at the top update according to the selected user.
If the Advanced resourcing add-on is enabled, you can conveniently view resource allocations from the same view by opening the Resource allocations section by clicking the arrow.
Adding a calendar entry
Add a new calendar event by clicking the green Add calendar entry button:
- Provide a name for the entry, specify the desired activity type (you can change the activity category from the top right corner of the edit window) and provide location details if necessary
- Define the event duration
- From - recurrence end
- All day
- Recurring: Select this option if you want to create recurring calendar entries. Add a recurrence rule by defining the recurrence times, recurrence period, and the recurrence end date.
- Add a more detailed description for the entry if necessary
- Assign the entry to a specific customer or project by selecting the desired customer/project from the Customer/Project menu
- Define the activity owner
- Add other participants and calendar resources if necessary
- Save and add the entry by clicking the Add more button (you can mark the calendar entry as completed upon adding if desired)
You can also add a calendar entry directly to the calendar by clicking the desired time. The duration of the entry depends on the view in which you add the entry: day, week, or month.
When adding an entry directly to a time, a pop-up window opens where you can enter the name of the entry. By clicking the Edit button in the window, the calendar entry edit window opens, allowing you to fill in more detailed information.
Activity category cannot be changed after the activity is created and saved for the first time.
Viewing and editing the calendar
The calendar can be viewed at the day, week, or month level. You can also view other users' calendars by clicking the Select calendars button. After selecting a user, you can save the view as a new calendar group by selecting Save as new group.
Activity category color codes are:
- Calendar entry: Light blue
- To-do: Green
- Project task: Violet
- Personal: Grey
- Absence: Orange
You can change the calendar view settings from the gear icon:
- Select the hourly interval that the calendar shows (start time and end time)
- Select from which day the week starts
- Show or hide weekends
- Group identical calendar events
These settings are stored in the cache of the specific browser, but if you want the setting to affect all browsers/devices used, make the change through your own profile from the top right corner of Severa My profile > Calendar view.
Planned activities
Planned activities list also shows tasks assigned to you, divided into overdue, due today, and tasks happening later.
Add a new to-do by clicking the Add to-do button. From the list, you can quickly edit the selected task, for example, move it to a later date or mark it as completed. Hover your mouse over the entry to perform actions on it. You can also select multiple entries and perform the same action on them at once.
