Getting started with Severa API integration

Step 1: Planning of Integration

Step 2: Implementation

Step 3: Deployment of Integration

Step 1: Planning of Integration

  1. Check what you can do with Severa API:

    1. What you need to know of Severa for creating an API implementation
      • Severa is planned for companies for B2B usage and therefore you should not plan B2C integration implementations
      • Visma Solutions doesn’t’s do any changes to Severa implementation based on the needs of a single customer
    2. Technical documentation can be found inSevera API for Developers article.

    3. What you can’t do with integrations
      •  You should not plan a B2C integration implementation
    4. What others have done with API?
  2. What is required from Severa integration implementation
    • A possibility to record log information
  3. How much does it cost?
    • implementation is free for our integration partners
    • customer pays a mothly fee for using Severa integration

Step 2: Implementation

  1. Request a secure test environment for implementation
When starting to build an integration, please request for a secure test implementation from Severa support. The following information is needed for setting it up:
    • Name of the company:
    • Technical contact person:
  2. When your organization has a secure-test environment available, the following endpoint should be used: https://sync-test.severa.com/webservice/S3/api.svc
  3. You need to create a Severa API key in the company which is going to use the integration – for testing purpose this needs to be created in secure test environment.
  4. Practical issues with Severa API

Step 3: Deployment of Integration

Visma Severa's API endpoint is: https://sync.severa.com/webservice/S3/API.svc/WSDL

The endpoint should be added as service reference to your application, and once done, interfaces and entities are available to be used. WSDL (XML presentation of API) can be viewed in browser also:https://sync.severa.com/webservice/S3/API.svc

You need also end users’s Severa API key. Here are the instructions for creating it: https://support.severa.com/entries/23262377-How-to-Create-Severa-API-key
