How to add a dashboard for employees with work hour report?

First the report needs to be created:

  1. Go to New - Report
  2. Select content Work hours
  3. Create the report with the values you wish to have
  4. Add a filter for example Person: Self, if you wish the employees to see only their own hours. You can add more filters too and create the kind of report you wish the employees to see.
  5. Give the report a name (this will also be the name of the report on the dashboard) and from the "My reports\Shared" dropdown select Shared.
  6. Save the report

Then create the dashboard:

  1. Go to Tools - Sharing
  2. Click "Dashboards" from the top of the screen
  3. If you have already created some dashboard, where you wish to show the report, select the dashboard tab or if you wish to make a new dashboard, click the tab icon that has the +-sign
    • If you are editing existing dashboard:
      • Click the wheel icon where it says "Add content"
      • Choose the report from the list (work hours report is under Entries)
      • Scroll down the page and Save changes
    • If you creating a new dashboard:
      • When adding a new dashboard it first asks the name of the dashboard.
      • On the Home page the dashboards are arranged in alphabetical order, so if dashboard is wanted as first dashboard, the naming is important.
      • Click Save after entering the name
      • Click the wheel icon where it says "Add content"
      • Choose the report from the list (work hours report is under Entries)
      • Select the user profiles who should see this dashboard on their home page
      • Save

After this, the people who belong to the user profile selected for the dashboard can see the dashboard and the report on their home pages.
